Monthly Recap - January '25

Once again, it's that time of month when I recap all the things happening on the blog and in my reading life ✨

BOOKS READ 📚

'Twas a month of Beauty and the Beast (and one Sleeping Beauty) retellings 😂 I actually loved most of them, except one that was so cringe and had such a toxic relationship *cough* Of Beast and Beauty *cough* Other than that tho, I had so much fun! I do have to admit my brain is tired after this series of long books and complex world-buildings 😂 I need to take a break so I'll probably switch to fluffy contemporary romance novels in February (my TBR coming soon!)

Here are some stats:

1 book rated ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

4 books rated ⭐⭐⭐⭐

1 book rated ⭐⭐

These are excellent ratings and I'm very satisfied with my choice of books 😄 I did have 3 DNF-s but more on that on my "Winter To-Do List Commentary." Luckily, I quickly realized I wasn't gonna love those books so I switched to something more enjoyable. It still dampened my will for reading for a few days, but that novella (Thornhedge) pulled me out of a reading slump 😂

In January I wrote 20 blog posts which is wild. I genuinely thought I was doing far worse 😅 In case you didn't read my last recap, in December I also wrote 20 posts, but I had lots of free time and energy + at the time it was my "high score." I have no idea how that happened again because I was on a short trip this month, had ZERO energy, and started gaming a bit more instead of reading...or blogging 😂

  2. I actually own Of Beauty and Beast, as I got it with a Kindle Deal for one of those events, but I was a bit doubtful about it, since I didn't know anyone that had read it. After knowing your thoughts, it will not be a priority for me, though I'll have to read it at some point.
I read my first Leia Stone this month and I was suprised by it, so I might read more in the future. I know she has a lot of books, and most of her covers are beautiful!

    1. ahhh what can I say? OBAB just didn't leave a good taste in my mouth. There were too many red flags and their relationship simply didn't seem healthy to me.

ooh I haven't read any Leia Stone before, but I'm looking forward to checking her work out! 😄
