I have no idea how or why, but I have been watching stuff like crazy.
I have like three main hobbies: reading, gaming and binging shows/movies, and at any given time I'm obsessed with two. Right now, I guess it's reading and TV 😂😂
Since my last post (July 11th, I can't believe it's only been like two weeks) I have already watched 7 movies and binged one show which for me is quite a lot. I have a short attention span and almost always prefer watching series over a movie. Not gonna complain tho, I'm just gonna dive into the reviews 😂

First up we have Late Bloomers a sort of "adult coming of age" movie where a 28-year-old woman has to deal with the mistakes from her past and find a new purpose in life. She meets this Polish woman while at the hospital and their lives intertwine. It was funny and emotional at times, I even enjoyed the ending - thank God nobody died. I grew attached to the grumpy old woman, she was so sassy 😂 Overall though, there were some filler scenes and I'd get bored a bit. There were some completely unimportant side characters that were there to idk, fill the space? Decent movie that has a nice message.

When it comes to HTTYD I can't even explain how I feel or why I feel that way. In theory, it should work because it's a perfect replica of the OG with a cast that fits like a glove...but that's it. It's the same movie, nothing new happened and nothing new was added. I didn't get emotional and it didn't move me because I knew exactly everything that's gonna happen - it didn't excite me at all. I'm giving it 3 stars because the actors did nothing wrong and Toothless was such a cutie, I loved his design.

Superman on the other hand. Omgosh I don't have enough words to show my love for this movie and this cast. Perfection from the first to the last second. This movie made me reignite my love for superhero movies, it made me rethink my attitude, and I wished to become a better and kinder person, it made me love my dog even more, it made me fall in love with David...basically, this movie became my obsession and addiction and I can't wait to rewatch it a million times 👀😍

After my friends and I left the cinema with hearts in our eyes and all of us in love with David Corenswet, we needed more 😂 Since I've already watched and loved Twisters, I recommended this movie for two reasons 1) I wanted to see Glenn as a sweet, supportive cowboy "boyfriend" again and 2) my friends haven't seen this movie and wanted to see David in a different role.
After swooning AGAIN, my next obsession became cowboy romance stories 😂 Keep in mind that Twisters is most definitely not a romance movie, but that's exactly why I loved the romance subplot - it's so subtle, so cute, there wasn't even a single kiss and yet I knew these two were smitten. It was a rivalry, then friendship, then something a bit more. I just hope we get a sequel 😍

I mean look at him, he's too cute. No wonder I watched 3 country romance movies after this 😂

Sweet Home Alabama aka the dumbest movie ever where Reese Witherspoon dumps her gorgeous, cute fiancé AT THE ALTAR to go be with her ex...Like, couldn't you have done this a bit sooner and spared poor Andrew of the embarrassment??? This guy was literally the perfect man who did nothing wrong and supported her in everything she did, gave her space, let her make whatever decision she wanted and chose her despite his mother saying she's an "unfit choice." My baby deserved better.
The other guy was okay too, I have nothing against him, it was actually Reese's character that annoyed me and I wanted to strangle her so many times. She insulted basically everyone and made so many stupid decisions...Now that I think about it, both guys are better off without her. These two stars are for the guys being green flags and the cute dog.

I adored the actors in Forever My Girl, everyone was simply amazing and delivered their lines perfectly. The thing is, Liam was such a red flag, and he kept doing dumb stuff and hurting people around him for apparently no reason. Had he improved after returning to their hometown, I wouldn't say anything, but HE REPEATED THE SAME STUPID MISTAKES. Josie was badass the first half of the movie, but I think she forgave him too fast and let her into their lives too soon. Other than that, I loved her and just wanted her and her family to be happy.

What to say about The Longest Ride? It felt like the longest movie, that's for sure. It was 2 hours of switching between two different storylines that managed to both annoy me and make me want more at the same time. If they made two movies, I'd love watching both, but since they split the time between the two it just confused my emotions and I didn't have enough time to fully develop attachment to these characters.
I truly have nothing bad to say about any of the 4 main characters - they were all total cuties and their relationships were fairly unproblematic, but as I said, I didn't have enough material to care for them as much as I wanted to. What I will say is that I actually rooted for them, unlike Forever My Girl...

Last, but definitely not least, I finished Poker Face season 2. I have nothing to say except EVERYONE NEEDS TO WATCH THIS. IT'S BRILLIANT, AMAZING, SHOWSTOPPING, TWISTY, MURDERY, FUNNY, AESTHETICALLY PLEASING, BRILLIANTLY EXECUTED, PUZZLING AND SO ON...
Please watch this, you won't regret it I promise 😂

💬 Have you watched any of the movies above? 💬

Oh. My. God. I have no idea how you did that either 😂 But I get it. I go through phases too where I just binge watch a bunch of stuff. A couple years ago when I started watching the Bleach anime, I swear I finished it in less than 2 months... this is an anime that has almost 400 episodes, mind you 🙈😂😂
ReplyDeleteMy brothers have not shut up about Superman! No, seriously. They keep telling me to go watch it, and while I do want to see it eventually, I'm just not in a superhero mood lately. I told them that I would see it but only if they took me, bought me a ticket for the VIP area of our theater, and bought me snacks and a margarita. They said no. They're broke 😂😂 One day I'll watch it though. Lol.
You have no idea how I did it but you watched 400 episodes in less than 2 months. GIRL 😂 We have to accept that sometimes we find hidden superpowers that last a few weeks and then disappear for months 😂😂
DeleteOhh your brothers have great taste because Superman deserves all the praise 😍 hahaha I get the broke part tho, I wanted to buy some merch at our local theatre but when I saw the prices I gave up 😂
