I know winter technically isn't over yet, but I'm definitely over this list 😂 Not only is it not "wintery" anymore (we got some warmer weather and absolutely no snow/rain), I DNF-ed so many things on this list that there's no point in delaying switching to something else 😅
I'm a firm believer of "drop things before they become a chore" so I'm moving on to more exciting books/TV shows 😂
------BOOKS 5/10------
These are the books I finished:
Hollow Court - ⭐⭐⭐⭐
A Curse So Dark and Lonely ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Of Beast and Beauty - ⭐⭐
Beauty Reborn - ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thornhedge ⭐⭐⭐⭐
-----------------------
These are the books I didn't finish:
A City of Flames
I didn't even start this one 😅 My "fantasy mood" is over so I'm gonna return this to my general TBR.
Ledge
DNF because I didn't realize this was an adult novel and I didn't like the writing at all.
Echo North
DNF because it was just too weird. It was like the author wanted to make the most whimsical thing ever that I had no idea what was going on half the time.
Heart's Blood / Daughter of the Forest
I had no idea I accidentally put two books by the same author on this list, so imagine my surprise whenn I DNF-ed Daughter of the Forest because of the writing and picked up Heart's Blood only to find the same writing style...😂😂 Look, I have nothing against "old-timey-whimsical-English" (I have no idea how else to describe this 😂) but as a person whose first language ISN'T English, these types of books tire me easily and I truly have to be in the mood to trudge through it 😅 Not to mention, one of these is 700 pages long...

Other than those, I also read 3 books that are connected but not on this list:
Fragile Oath (sequel to Hollow Court) and both sequels to A Curse So Dark and Lonely (A Heart So Fiearce and Broken; A Vow So Bold and Deadly).
------MOVIES 4/5------
I loved all of the movies, except Y2K which I DNF-ed. After cringing through the first 10 minutes I just couldn't keep going 😅 Instead I watched The Tearsmith which was...not good either lol
------TV SHOWS 1/3------
If you've read my original Winter TBR you'll know that I said I probably won't watch any of these...and I almost didn't lol I only finished The 10th Kingdom which was the BEST THING EVER ♥ But I didn't even start the other two.

------KDRAMAS??------
I tried watching When the Weather is Fine but I gave up 10 mins in lol It just didn't pull me in I guess *shrugs* Then I started My Dearest and I actually watched 7 episodes!! The thing is...it just had too many graphic violent scenes. I don't enjoy watching those and I knew this was a war story, but I didn't know how detailed it would be, so it's a no from me. I'm currently watching Little Women and despite only being 3 episodes in, I'm already loving it more than the other 2 😄
------GAMES 2/3------
Loco Motive - ughh I wanted to like this one so bad, but after playing for 15 minutes I gave up. It had too many unskippable scenes/animations that would repeat all.the.time. I have no patience for that.
Symphonia - now this was an excellent puzzle platformer with a unique twist! You use your bow to jump around and do various stunts. The soundtrack was beautiful, the visuals stunning and the story simplistic but gets the point across. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Pixel Cafe - an excellent time management game that can be cozy but also requires a lot of skill! Some of these levels can get really hard if you don't master making all the dishes/drinks fast. I played with a controller so it was both frustrating and satisfying at times 😂 I loved the pixel art and that you can customize your room a bit while getting upgrades for your character. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Did you play any of these games? What do you think of the books/kdramas/movies mentioned above?

I think you did pretty good, all things considered. And good job on DNFing those books that you weren't into! I need to get better at doing that 😅
ReplyDeleteyou know what, you're right 😂 I'll take this as a win. Yeahhh my life got so much easier when I started DNF-ing 😂
