New week means new Monday bookish meme hosted by  The Book Date.

Last week I finished 2 more soft, summer romances, but they were not as good as my last batch 😅 Meet Me Under the Lights is a baseball romance about two kids from "rival" families which sounds fun in theory, but after the 403584th baseball reference, I couldn't take it anymore...

We get that love hit you like that speedball, or that being with her is like something something inning (we don't have baseball in Croatia so most of the book sounded like gibberish to me lol).

There were some sweet moments between two main characters and I actually enjoyed the theatre subplot (how Eliza loved working with the lights and wanted to show everyone she isn't just some rich kid who get everything handed to her) so I gave this book 2.5 ⭐

All Roads Lead to Rome was slightly better. It was definitely more fun because the book is set in Rome and there's a fake dating situation going on. The whole thing was quite sweet, even a bit too sweet sometimes (lots of Hallmarky scenes and a HEA), but that's not what bothered me. My main issue is that everyone kept saying how Story wasn't like other girls just because she doesn't wear makeup or wants expensive thigns...Like, aren't we past that already? In any case, I had my fun and while it won't stay in my memory long, it was good while it lasted, so 3 ⭐ from me!

Decided to throw a curveball (pun intended lol) and read a thriller before jumping back to my Summer TBR and pirate fantasy novels. I'm already halfway in and it's addictive. I have so many theories but probably none of them are right 😂

I'm not sure which of these will be next, but I plan on reading both next week!
