Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. Here is the topic of the week:
🎯 Reading and blogging goals for 2026 🎯
At first I thought I didn't have any specific reading goals for 2026 except the obvious one - finish all my reading challenges, but then I thought about which books I'm reading so I've come up with something 😂 Here are my goals for this year:
1. Read 80 books 📚
Last year I read 76 and I definitely could've read more if it weren't for that slump that lasted the whole month 🤦🏻♀️
2. Read more new releases ✨
Since I focused mainly on backlist books the past 2 years, I have failed in reading some exciting new releases from my fave authors (or others) which means I'm a bit behind with current trends. I definitely want to change that.
3. Focus on my reading journal ✍🏻
I LOVE decorating my reading journal. Even when I don't have a purpose for it, I'll make a gorgeous spread just to have fun and relax. I recently bought some super cute stickers (that I'll definitely share with you in an upcoming post), which made me want to make EVEN MORE spreads...

4. Write more discussion posts 💬
Ahh this is something I'm really bad at. Even though I have a ton of ideas, they always stay in my lil notebook and never see the light of day...or should I say screen? 😂
5. Connect with other bloggers 🌍
I definitely need to expand my circle. While I love reading the same 2-3 blogs every day and they are my comfort places, I have space in my heart for more 😂
6. Get out of reading slumps faster 💀
Now I know reading slumps are inevitable. The year is long, moods change, books can be 2-star trash...all of this affects my reading, so I can't say I won't get into a reading slump. BUT. I do have a better emergency plan if it happens - I'm gonna reread Gallagher Girls 😂😂 It's such a fun, light series and there are a ton of books, so even if I get into 5 slumps I HAVE A BOOK FOR EACH

7. Read more manga 💭
I mean...I don't know what to say for myself 😅 My first (and only) manga was Spy x Family Vol.1 and I absolutely loved it. I read it halfway through 2025 and just...left it at that 😂 I want to, nay, I NEED TO read more. Not just because it's an excellent series, but because there's a whole world out there that needs to be explored. Bonus points for having a work colleague who has a bunch of manga at home and is willing to borrow them and gush with me about them 😂

💬 Have you set any goals for 2026? 💬

If you find a way to get out of reading slumps faster, please share. I sure do struggle with that.
Ohh that sounds intriguing, I'll definitely check it out! I'm always on the lookout for more blogging memes to add 😊
DeleteThe only method that brings me out of a slump immediately is rereading one of my faves, it's even better if it's a shorter book. Or a novella set in a series I enjoyed. Those boost my reading goal and make me want to read more 😁
Sorry, that comment was from me!
ReplyDeleteI also want to focus a little more on my physical reading journal this year! I keep a spreadsheet of reads but I do like having a physical record as well and doing a little extra for books I really loved.
ReplyDeleteHaving a physical list is so convenient! Not only does it look pretty, it also has a positive effect on my reading because I'm super motivated to finish a book just so I can cross it out/ glue on a cover/ mark with a sticker etc 😂
DeleteI want a pretty book journal so badly but I can't keep up with it! I hope you show us yours! I also want to try to get in some discussion posts this year if I can. Good luck on all your goals!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I'm actually drafting the post rn 😂 It can definitely be daunting at first, when you don't know what sort of spreads you wanna make and it's not a part of your routine yet. Good luck to you too! I hope we both write a bunch of amazing discussion posts 🥰
DeleteThanks for sharing your #TTT and good luck with all your goals!
ReplyDeleteThanks, good luck to you too! 😁
DeleteThese all seem like reasonable goals. Good luck with them!
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
Thanks, I tried being a bit more realistic this year unlike the previous years, but we'll see 😁
DeleteGreat goals! I'm planning to write some discussion posts too this year. I'm also going to be reading more manga; I saw quite a selection of them in my library. I hope you achieve all your goals 😊.
