☕🍂🍁🧸
I ended up playing 4 out of 6 games from this list so I'm pretty proud of myself 😂 The other 2 I'll probably get to by the end of the month. These were all autumn coded so the vibes were on point and I actually ended up enjoying all of them.
1. The Roottrees are Dead 📰
"A genealogical mystery straight out of 1998. Scour the early Internet for clues, uncover hidden connections, and piece together the family tree behind the secretive Roottree Corporation."

If you ever wanted to feel like a private investigator, this is a game for you! You're definitely gonna have your work cut out for you because this game won't hold your hand. You have a computer which you can use to "Google" stuff and you can literally use it like a real computer - there are multiple search engines (one for library books, one for magazines, and one general internet search tool) in which you can type in whatever words you want.
You have to make all the connections yourself and fill the "family tree board" one piece of evidence at a time. It gets really tricky toward the end and it truly pushes you to think outside the box. Sometimes you have to make wild guesses, sometimes you have to go through the evidence with a magnifying glass and see what you missed, sometimes you just have to find the right word to search so you get the info you need. Basically, you need to be a proper detective. One of the best games I've ever played!

2. The Entropy Center 📦
"Think in reverse. Outsmart the impossible. A mind-bending first-person adventure where you solve ingenious and complex puzzles by rewinding objects through time."
For all of my girlies that love a good puzzle game, this one will make you scream in frustration but also feel pretty smug once you figure it out. It's very similar to Portal in my opinion (both puzzle and aesthetic-wise), which is a huge compliment since that's my fave game ever.
The graphics are amazing and since the whole game is set on a space station of some kind, the sights you'll see are gorgeous. The storyline was wonderfully done and while I did guess a certain plot twist, this didn't make the game any less enjoyable.

3. Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream ⚙️
"Experience an isometric, narrative-driven stealth game and join Hanna’s adventure in the vibrant city of Eriksholm. The mysterious disappearance of her brother, Herman, ignites a chain of catastrophic events that will forever change their lives and the fate of the entire city."
Finally, I found a game where I can play a sort of spy character that only has to hide and sneak around characters WITHOUT ANY COMBAT. I hate combat and any sort of fighting in games. The only time I'll suffer through it is if it's such a minor part of the game - that's why I'm a cozy gamer 😂
Basically, this game is about a girl that has to escape without being seen by millions of guards that are looking for her to find her missing brother. The story was fine (I did immerse myself a bit more in the second half) but what took my breath away was the graphics. Each scene felt uniquely crafted and so detailed. It never felt too dark or too bland - the colors perfectly reflected each place the character visited and you can see the creators really thought this through.
Not only that, the gameplay itself it challenging in the best way. You truly have to think about each location and how to approach it - sometimes you'll have to be quick, sometimes you'll have to slowly sneak around, sometimes you'll have to make a distraction. There are so many options! Ahh I wish I could play it for the first time again...

4. Blue Prince
"Welcome to Mt. Holly, where every dawn unveils a new mystery. Navigate through shifting corridors and ever-changing chambers in this genre-defying strategy puzzle adventure. But will your unpredictable path lead you to the rumored Room 46?"
How do I explain this game without sounding crazy? I literally hated it and loved it at the same time. I feel like people who play chess, who love strategic planning and are far more patient than me will love this.I am not one of those people, therefore I only loved it to a certain point after which I wanted to throw my PC through the window 😂
The whole point of the game (which the devs themselves said you'll take weeks, even months, to reach) is to find a hidden room. It can only be reached through a special room with 4 locked doors (and who knows how many other traps, I haven't gotten that far), which open only by solving certain puzzles WHICH are available ONLY in certain rooms, WHICH CAN BE DRAFTED ONLY WHEN CERTAIN PARAMETERS ARE REACHED... Do you see how that can be frustrating?? 😂
You always have to think 265 steps ahead and if you don't, if you miss a single detail, it's all worthless. That's actually the point of the game - you play it from scratch each in-game day just so you can learn new things about the house and find new tactics. There are also some upgrades you can get that cross over to other days, but just thinking about this whole thing again makes my brain hurt. This is too much for me and I gave up after playing for about 3 weeks 😂 It's a good game and obviously can be played for a long time, but it's not that satisfying to me because most of the time I don't see any progress 😅 I'm obviously not skillful nor patient enough for this, but that's fine.
