It’s Monday! What are You Reading? - 23.02.25

New week means new Monday bookish meme hosted by  The Book Date.

Out of these three, the only one I didn't like was Perfect Girl. All of the characters unnerved me so much and besides being obnoxious, they were also very dumb - making all the thriller movie mistakes by going everywhere alone and trusting whomever...I gave it 2 stars and that's generous.

Not Quite Dead Yet was freaking amazing. I was so glad I picked this up immediately after because it gave me my faith in thriller people back 😂😂 The twists were crazy and the characters actually thought about their decisions before making them. It even got me emotional at one point not gonna lie.

The third book I read since last Monday was The Blonde Who Came In from the Cold and in typical Ally Carter fashion, it had the best banter combined with spy action. It would've been a 5 star read if it weren't for one thing - there were too many different timeline POVs. We're constantly jumping between past and present but the past is not a "singular" event - it's all their missions that happened 8, 7, 6 etc years ago. My brain couldn't keep up with it 😅

Started off pretty boring - I'm currently 18% in and it's just teens making stupid decisions by deciding to follow a stranger (and enter dark creepy tunnels yay) and not tell anybody. Since it was one of the Goodreads Choice Awards nominees, I'm hoping it gets better later, maybe with some crazy plot twists idk. Trying really hard not to judge in advance!

I loved all things puzzle related which is no wonder I devoured everything by J.L.Barnes. Her The Inheritance Games series has one of the best puzzles and mysteries to solve. I'm hoping this will give me a similar vibe because the official summary on GR says "the reader has the chance to test their own codebreaking skills" and that sounds super fun!

What are you currently reading? What are you planning on reading next?
