☕🍂 Autumn Recommendations Part 1 🍁🧸
We're already deep into autumn and I still haven't done all the recommendation posts I wanted 😅 Better late than never, right! Anyways, I'm gonna start with video games because why not? First, I'll show you some amazing games I think have that fall vibe (maybe it's set during autumn, or it's a bit on the darker, spookier side), and then I'll share some of the games that have been on my radar for some time, aka games I plan on playing during this season!

Most of the games I have for you today are detective (escape) games because gloomy weather just begs for a mystery. Here's an overview of all the games I'll mention with their topics:
🗝️ Escape Games:
1. Escape Academy
2. Escape Simulator
🔎 Detective/Mystery Solving:
3. Duck Detective
4. Jenny LeClue
5. Detective Grimoire
6. Nancy Drew®: Warnings at Waverly Academy
✉️ Cozy Job/ Life Simulators
7. Lake
8. Bear and Breakfast
✒️ Literature Themed
9. Prose and Codes
10. Storyteller
1. Escape Academy 🗝️
"Welcome to Escape Academy. Train to become the ultimate Escapist. Solve Puzzles. Hack Servers. Meet the Faculty. Brew the perfect cup of tea. Escape Rooms in single player or co-op with a friend - local or online!"

• There are different levels of difficulty and solving the puzzles feels very satisfying. You'll meet a band of quirky characters and have the opportunity to find an interesting backstory. I played this partly solo, partly with my sister, and we had lots of fun! •
2. Escape Simulator 🔎
"First-person puzzler you can play solo or in an online co-op. Explore a set of highly interactive escape rooms. Move furniture, pick up and examine everything, smash pots and break locks! Play thousands of community-made rooms through the level editor."

• Similar to Escape Academy, this is a first-person game where you have to look for clues around different rooms and try to escape. While EA has better storytelling, this one has community made levels, so you can never run out of content! •
3. Duck Detective 🦆
"Solving crime is no walk in the pond. You are a down-on-his-luck detective who also happens to be a duck. Use your powers of de-duck-tion to inspect evidence, fill in the blanks, and bust the case wide open! This is a short but twisty detective case."
• An excellent blend of humor and intrigue, this game made me laugh quite a lot but also scratch my brain. Sometimes I'd get stuck, but that just means the game doesn't let you go off easy, and you actually have to think and find things out on your own. •
4. Jenny LeClue 🔦
"JENNY LECLUE is an adventure game focused on exploration, story, and character, featuring dozens of characters to meet, mysteries and puzzles to solve across a vibrant, atmospheric world."

• Another gorgeous mystery that focuses a lot on character interactions and finding out the whole story - the art is also more on the funky cartoon side, but it still makes for an interesting whodunnit! •
5. Detective Grimoire 🕵️
"Detective Grimoire has been called to investigate a murder. The owner of a small tourist attraction, seemingly killed by the mythical creature his attraction is based around... Explore the area, inspect the crime scene, grill suspects, solve puzzles, hunt for clues & uncover the secret of the swamp!"

• With a swamp setting, this definitely leans on the creepier side while also offering a unique gaming system where you have to make deductions by connecting items and characters. •
6. Nancy Drew: Warnings at Waverly Academy 📙
"In 'Warnings at Waverly Academy', Nancy goes undercover at a school where valedictorian candidates receive threatening notes from the 'Black Cat.' Immerse yourself in the high school drama by text messages, cramming for projects and navigating social cliques."

• A classic point-and-click Nancy Drew game (there are tons of them, but this is the one I played first) with nostalgic graphics and of course, a fun mystery to solve by clicking wildly everywhere because you know me - I got stuck 😂 •
7. Lake ✉️
"It's 1986 - Meredith Weiss takes a break from her career in the big city to deliver mail in her hometown. How will she experience two weeks in beautiful Providence Oaks, with its iconic lake and quirky community? And what will she do next? It's up to you"

• In this gorgeous game you get to truly relax on the job - there's no time limit, no pressure, you deliver packages and letters at your own pace. Driving the delivery truck is so satisfying and sometimes I'd just drive around the lake and enjoy the scenery. The small town vibes are cozy and the characters you meet on your journey will definitely make the game even more interesting. •
8. Bear & Breakfast 🐻
"Bear and Breakfast is a laid-back management adventure game where you build and run a bed and breakfast...but you’re a bear."

• The color palette of this game just screams autumn. While the main goal is to manage your own bed & breakfast, you also get to explore the woods and different areas, while also solving a bit of a mystery. There's lots to do in the game, lots of new items to discover so prepare for it to absolutely consume your life for weeks...in the best way 😂 •
9. Storyteller 👑
"Storyteller is an award-winning puzzle game about building stories. Start with a title, settings and characters and create a story that fits the story’s description. Play with stories of love, intrigue, crime, monsters, betrayal, and more!"

• This cute puzzle game will make you think outside the box while you put pictures inside the box. Wow, I'm hilarious 😂 Anyways, it may seem easy, but trust me, some levels (especially if you want to get all the achievements/variants) will make you wanna scream. I loved every second of it. •
10. Prose & Codes
"Explore the wonderful world of books through deceptively simple cryptograms. 10% of every purchase benefits Project Gutenberg, an online library of over 60,000 free ebooks."

• If you love decoding stuff and gorgeous quotes, this game will be right up your alley. You also get to customize a bit with changeable themes and colors. •
Well, those are all the games I could think of that fit this season. I hope you guys end up finding a new game you're gonna love!
Here's a list of games that I haven't played yet, but they're on my to-play list in the upcoming months:

Oooh so many cozy games! I love that you have so many on the list! I could never 😆 I get so hyperfixated on games and then that's all I'll play for months on end. Lol. Right now it's Power Wash Simulator 2, but I might go back to The Sims soon. And I'll also definitely be picking up ACNH again because there is shockingly a new update coming in January! Did not see that coming!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Duck Detective looks so freaking cute! And I love the idea Bear & Breakfast! Even the name is fun! Lol.
