I absolutely adored this tiny story about two sisters fighting for their lives in different ways. Although, for some reason, I thought there'd be alternative POVs and not just one sister being the protagonist all the time. The horror elements were truly fascinating and the story moves at a decent pace. My only issue with this is that you don't find out why the rifts opened, or why these "monstrous areas" remained. There are explanations for other related topics, but not for these core questions which bugged me the most. I NEED TO KNOW OKAY? Otherwise, a truly fun horror read that sort of has the vibes of Stranger Things.
Continuing with the "monster sci-fi horror" theme, I'm picking up Swarm - a story about giant butterflies attacking and eating people. Sounds nice right? 😂
Let's just hope I stick to my Autumn TBR and that's it 😂

I'm glad you liked Square! I love Mira Grant's writing and she just does horror so well! I am very curious about your next read because giant butterflies? What?! 😂
ReplyDeleteShe is amazing, I agree! She writes complex science very naturally and it doesn't sound boring nor difficult, it actually all makes sense. Yeah, I have no idea where this butterfly thing will go 😂
