When her FBI agent father is framed for murder, Kylene is forced to move in with her grandfather, back to the small town that turned its back on her, and the boy who betrayed her.
All Ky cares about is clearing her father’s name, but someone won’t let her forget the photo scandal that drove her away two years ago. As the threats gain momentum, Ky finds an unlikely ally in the rookie FBI agent sent to keep an eye on her.
Determined to expose the town's hidden skeletons, Ky unwittingly thrusts herself into a much bigger plot. They thought she’d forgive and forget. They’re about to learn they messed with the wrong girl.
I actually finished all the books in the series, so this review is gonna be for the whole thing!
omgosh this is so VERONICA MARS CODED I LOVE IT. You've got a sassy teen blonde girl solving mysteries (and bringing justice) with sheer grit, stubbornness, and sarcasm.

Kylene is a kickass woman through and through. She knows she's a tad bit impulsive and can't help but start fights with bullies and generally crappy people. She's after the truth and nothing can stop her.

I'm recommending this especially to my The Naturals girlies because this book also features a supportive friendship group trying to solve mysteries. I loved all of the friendships, but especially the relationship between Ky and Garret - imagine that, a boy and a girl with zero romantic feelings. Not only that, but both Dawson and AJ (I was team Dawson from book 1 😂) aka the love interests, are mature guys who know how to express their emotions!!

Basically all of the characters are very honest, have more than one brain cell and actually use logic and deductive skills. Ahh I love it when everything makes sense...
