Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. Here is the topic of the week:
🙋🏻♀️ Favorite Secondary/ Minor Characters 💆🏻♂️
Ohhh such a good prompt! I'm definitely a fan of having lots of layered characters instead of just focusing on the main character and their love interest.
1. Akarnae - There are teachers, the headmaster, administrator, and others who are a core part of the story and don't just "disappear so the kids can go on adventures." They offer great advice, help when necessary and generally support Alex and the band in their activities. All of them are also loving and caring in their own way.
2. Sanctuary - basically all of the superhuman teen convicts were fun and badass, but my fave would be Alexei because he seems like he's so mean and dangerous, but he's actually a huge softie ☺
3. The Inheritance Games - Nash, the modern cowboy who's the oldest brother, a protective type, and a marshmallow on the inside. Do I need to say more?
4. Eliza, from Scratch - Eliza's two BFFs and her mom were such a great addition to the story. They all helped Eliza so much in her emotional development, and their support definitely deserves to be mentioned 🤗
5. Dungeons and Drama - the whole D&D group was so sweet and supportive, but my fave was Hoshiko, the BFF!
6. Little White Lies - all of the debutantes were queens!! They each had a unique personality and brought something important to the story. I loved how their friendship formed after all the stuff they went through together.
7. A List of Cages - Adam, my precious baby, deserves the world!!! ❤
8. Skyward - Doomslug the Destroyer, aka the sweet lil alien slug that Spensa took as a pet. I mean...yeah 😂
9. 100 Days of Sunlight - Rudy, along with Tessa's grandparents, were so nice, and I know I already said this a thousand times in this post - BUT THEY WERE SO SUPPORTIVE OKAY?? I don't know how else to say it, but they made a huge difference in these characters' lives in the best way possible.

💬 Which secondary characters would you mention? 💬

DeleteI'm not familiar with most of these, but I'm glad you've found some great secondary characters to love!
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
Minor characters can make or break a story, so I'm very fond of authors who give all of their characters interesting attributes or backstories! ☺
