New week means new Monday bookish meme hosted by  The Book Date.

The Ministry of Time was such a disappointing read for me because I expected time travel adventures, spies and workplace rom-com shenanigans but the book was literally none of these things. It was dull, not funny and had no plot until maybe the last third.

There Is No Antimemetics Division was the complete opposite - it was everything I expected and more. It's such a delightful, creepy sci-fi novel that's all about monsters you can't see or remember. It's got complex storytelling, belieavable characters and even a dose of humor, def recommend!

As you know, I don't read historical novels much, but I needed a historical romance book for a reading challenge and so I picked A Noble Masquerade. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised! I adored the main character, and there was an actual plot besides the romance about a traitor and some spying 😂

After that, I picked up All the Way Around the Sun, and for the second time this year, I got a bit teary-eyed. It talks about grief after losing a sibling and it just made me so emotional - especially the parts when she reminisces about their childhood memories with their grandma. The book also talks about various feelings the kids who move from China to the USA get and how they deal with all the pressure about fitting in both of these worlds.

A Snow White retelling about a woman who's an expert on poisons?

I'm feeling very....fantastical these past few days 😂 I'm gonna use this and read as many fantasy novels as I can because these are usually so freaking long and I have so many on my reading challenge TBRs 😅
