New week means new Monday bookish meme hosted by  The Book Date.

This is the second time I managed to finish 4 books in one week 😅 To be fair, none of these was longer than 350 pages. I finished Once Upon a Rose on Thursday, just before my readathon and while it was cute and cozy, it remained a 3-star read for me because it didn't offer anything new or made me feel excited.

During the readathon, I finished Twelfth Knight, a book that took me by surprise in the best way possible. Viola Reyes may seem like an annoying main character, but I totally understood her. Her cynicism and general no-nonsense attitude definitely pushed other people away from her, and while she sometimes had a reason to behave that way, often times she did not. She was just acting according to the things she was taught and the things she (unfortunately) experienced. I loved her character development and I especially loved how Jack accepted her as she is and cared for her.

During the readathon I also read Room to Breathe, a slightly more angsty read than what I'm used to from Kasie West but definitely one I enjoyed. Again, we have a main character that's not all sunshine and rainbows but has a grudge against the world. I was intrigued to see how she would handle her problems and how she would approach dealing with her past mistakes. Another 5-star read!

While I read most of the book (70%) during the readathon, I finished the rest of But He's My One Regret this morning. I definitely liked Levi and Dahlia as a couple; they were super sweet, but I will admit I liked the first book more. I felt like Adrian and Juliette had more unique personalities and a nicer setting + more interactions with people outside their families. It's still a solid 4-star rating from me!

I'm going to my first ever sci-fi convention this weekend so I thought it'd be appropriate to read this before I go 😂

This looks adorable and we all need a bit of Ann Liang in our lives!
