Finally, I've finished choosing my books for the Flower Market challenge and besides those, I'll also show you some book recommendations if you're not sure what to read! 😄
For each prompt, I wanted to give myself some options (but not too many, because then I just get indecisive), so I picked 2 books, and when the moment comes, I'll let my mood choose between them 😂

1. Rose Lily - Two genres combined.
Both of these are romantasy novels that I planned to read this year, but I think I'll probably get to A Dragon Rider's Guide To Retirement first because I feel like cozy fantasy will be my main genre in May 😄

Recommendations:

2. Angel's Trumpets - Unassuming cover.
For this one, I've got The Stardust Grail (reading this one would cross off so many prompts for me that I'm 90% sure I'll read this one lol) because this cover gives me almost nothing. I can tell it's got something to do with space and are those tentacles?? My first guess was that this would be some philosophical take on humanity thriving in space or something serious like that. In any case, when I read the premise on Goodreads, I was delightedly shocked at what the book is actually about 😂
The Healer's Apprentice cover is just the regular case of "this is a historical novel and we had no budget" so you can't really glean anything special from it.

Recommendations:

3. Skeleton Flower - Less than 1000 ratings.
This one was fairly easy, I just sorted through my to-read list on Goodreads by num. of ratings and cross-referenced that with my general list of reading challenges to see if I can double something. Both of these would help me make progress on multiple challenges so yay me 😂

Recommendations:

4. Chocolate Cosmos - A 4.5 rating or higher.
The Vanishing Girl's got a rating of 4.47 (I didn't specify decimals so rounding up is fine 😂) while Seyoon and Dean, Unscripted got 4.50 (it was 4.51 two days ago 😶 I guess I'd better read this fast lol). Both of these sound super fun. The Vanishing Girl fits my current mood well because I'm full into sci-fi, but I might read this cute rom-com in May....idk yet.

Recommendations:

5. Hoya Flower - A series with 4 books or more.
I really should get to the latest Murderbot novel, it's been staring at me for 2 years 😂 The 8th book is coming out this year, so I should definitely read this as soon as possible. On the other hand, But He's My One Regret is shorter, and it would help me with my Romanceopoly reading challenge..ahh decisions decisions 😂

Recommendations:

6. Bird of paradise - Colorful cover.
A pretty easy prompt to find books for, but in the end, I chose these two because they're the ones that drew me in at first glance.

Recommendations:

Do you prepare a TBR for every challenge, or do you just wing it?

I was waiting for this post!!! I should have added recommendations as well. I like a lot of your picks.
ReplyDeleteA Dragon Rider's Guide To Retirement sounds cool and I am curious about the cozy fantasy genre. Sue Lynn Tan is also an author I want to try.
Both picks from Skeleton Flower also sound great! I'll be looking into those two a bit more.
Chocolate Cosmos for me was super difficult because there were no books I wanted to read there, at least ones I wanted to get to soon. I found Seyoon and Dean, Unscripted during my research, but I was unsure. It has just come out, that is why the ratings are changing.
A lot of my series would work out for Hoya Flower. I also have the Carter books in my TBR!
I am excited to see other people's TBRs! Thanks again for creating this challenge.
Thanks!! Cozy fantasy is a genre that's slowly becoming more and more popular. So far I don't think I've read anything in this genre, or maybe just this one book idk 🤔
DeleteSeyoon and Dean, Unscripted already dropped to 4.48 today and idk how I feel about that 😂😂 I guess Chocolate Cosmos will undo me as well lol
I remember seeing one of Carter's other books on your WWW posts! Or maybe it was a TBR. In any case, I saw this author on your blog somewhere 😁
Thank YOU for participating 🥰
I'm in the middle of picking my books for the challenge too! But I had to come and peek at yours first 😆 I don't think I'm going to pick ALL of my books, but a lot of the books I had on my immediate tbr for April work! Including Murderbot for the Hoya flower!! 🤣
ReplyDeleteoohh I'm excited to see what you come up with!! 😍 Glad your April TBR matches, it makes ones job easier 😂 Yess to Murderbot!!! That was the one that immediately came to my mind as well 😂
DeleteWhat a cute challenge! I haven't heard of it before and I love flowers. haha. I love a lot of your options. Murderbot is one that I highly recommend!! Good luck with the challenge!
ReplyDeleteThanks!! You can't have spring themed stuff without flowers 😍 Murderbot is such a good character, I can't get enough of him 😁
Deleteoh this is SUCH a cool challenge!!! i'm definitely going to participate :)
ReplyDeleteas for the tbr, i'm notoriously bad at sticking to my plans, but i shall attempt to create a list anyways 😂
maybe i'll get around reading ink and bone this year, lol. hope you enjoy sue lynn tan's never ever after— the cover looks floral and *gorgeous*
i love six of crows having a 4.5 star rating. it's an excellent dulogy,,, i really want to reread it now😂
ooh, ministry of time is on my tbr too!!
I'm so glad!!! Thank you for joining this challenge 😍🥰 ahh I totally get you about TBRs, they're fun to make but hard to stick to 😅
Deleteoohh you should definitely read Ink and Bone!! It's such a complex, plot twisty series + it's about a magical library 😎
yesss Six of Crows is one of the rare universally loved books 😂
