🍋 What has been going on with my life (and blog) recently? 🍋
Well, at the beginning of the month, I started to make some smallish changes to the blog. You probably all have noticed by now that I have a different profile picture, and yes..that's actually me 😂
I never planned on showing my face online, but I wanted for my pfp to actually be me. This was the perfect middle ground and I'm so in love with how it turned out. I actually wanted a new picture because I wanted to have the same one across all platforms/accounts I use for book blogging.
Then I finally created a new archive page because the widget I wanted to use wasn't working. I think I already spoke about this before, but for some reason, the usual Blogger archive widget that I've been using for years on other blogs didn't wanna work with this specific theme. I researched a bit online and found a trick to make a page that automatically lists all my posts and basically becomes an archive 😄
And then I remade some post banners because the old ones looked so ugly to me, idk why, don't ask 😂
I made the "monthly recap" one completely in Canva while the other 2 I drew myself. I prefer having my own artwork, but sometimes it's not worth the trouble. Sometimes I have a very specific vision and need to draw everything by hand, and sometimes I just want that scrapbook-y vibe that can be done perfectly well with Canva elements.
Moving on, this month I also added 2 new topics and those are "A to Z" in which I give you recommendations based on the first letter in the title of the book, anndd my new personal fave - "Love It or Burn It" where we judge books by their covers.

When it comes to real life, I had an amazing July despite it starting off horribly. We had a 3-day trip booked to visit Venice and Verona but the agency cancelled at the last minute, and by then all the other trips were also unavailable because, of course, they've been booked in advance months ago, just like ours.
This was my "major moment" of the summer, so I was pretty bummed we didn't get to go. In the end, we managed to find a one-day trip to Opatija that had a few spots free and immediately booked it 😂 We had an amazing time because the town is super gorgeous. If you don't know, it's a smallish town by the sea in Croatia and as you can see in the photos below, it's really pretty and has beautiful gardens you can visit.
When we got back, I had maybe a day free and then my best friend came over! We had a great time going shopping, watching movies, drooling over the new Superman (more on that in my next Recently Watched 😂😂) etc.
In the end, July turned out even better than I expected 😄 How did your July go?

I DID notice your profile pic changed! I love that you found the perfect balance between privacy and personalization that your comfortable with. I started blogging when I was a teenager, so I was not smart enough to even think of this. I blame my underdeveloped brain 😂
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm glad to hear that your trip turned out okay! That is so frustrating that your trip that you already had planned got cancelled. But you ended up going to a gorgeous place!
Thanks! hahahah when I was a teen, all my profile pictures were those cringey Rapunzel edits and badly made avatars from online avatar makers that I thought "looked a bit like me" 😂😂
DeleteYeah, I was pretty sad because Italy has been on my "top places to visit" list since forever, but then I realized I can just go next year and I calmed down a bit 😂
