Welcome to the next alphabet recommendations type of thing and this time, we have titles starting with the letter "B"!
Unlike last time (where I recommended basically just sci-fi...which is not necessarily a bad thing 👀), I'll try and have different genres represented 😂
When Suzanne Collins announced she was writing a book from Snow's POV I was surprised to say the least 😅 He is a character we all love to hate and I truly wondered how she'd do this, but I shouldn't have doubted - I was HOOKED. She didn't try and humanize him, or have him have a "traumatic past where he was actually a decent human being" so we'd somehow forgive him, nope. He was evil in this book as well, but it was so fascinating to read about - how he came into power, how he starting with less evil deeds to more evil, how he actually cared a tiny bit for some people but betrayed then nonetheless...yeah, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes was so much fun 😂
The Big Sheep was definitely one of the more unique books I'd read 😂 It's a sci-fi, noir detective story where a genetically altered sheep goes missing and the main character has to find it. It turns out there's an even bigger conspiracy, or should I say case, going on when a famous actress disappears and rappers without her memory.
A completely different story happens in Beartown - a contemporary novel about what it means to be human and what people are capable of doing when it comes to saving their own skin. It's also about sports, relationships, small town mentalities etc. It's a complex story that almost made me cry at one point, and it's got so many things going on, I can't even summarize it. The sequels are amazing as well and if you haven't yet, I recommend you check this book out!
When it comes to Beauty and the Beast retellings, don't miss out on Beauty Reborn! It's not as well-known and it's story is far more low-key that most, but it offers a wonderful relationship between two main characters. It's also got some cozy world-building and if you're looking for something not intense, something sweet to read, this is for you.
The Blonde Identity is for all of us Gallagher Girls who grew up but haven't dropped our sassy spy personalities 😂 This is basically GG for adults and I can't even count how many times I laughed while reading this. It's got the plot, the humor and the relationships! Basically, it's a full package.
Ending this list with a super sweet romance that's in line with all other Kasie West books. Better than Revenge is all about a girl trying to get back at her ex who stole her dream position as a podcaster for the school team by taking his spot on the football team. She asks her ex's nemesis and star football player for help with training and you can all predict what comes next 😂
