There's only about a month left of 2024 which means I gotta start planning for next year! In this post, I'll list all the reading challenges I plan on participating in and my goals. I've definitely picked way more that I should, but a girl's gotta try right?
I won't be posting my book picks because a) half of these don't require pre-picked books, I'll just add whatever I read that fits b) for those with specific requests, I chose 3 books for each prompt so in case I start one and DNF-it, I have 2 left. This post would be too long to post all of these books so for now, I'll just list the challenge names and link to their respective origin websites.
1. A-to-Z
As the title suggests, you pick books that start with each letter of the alphabet. I had great fun doing it this year so I'm continuing with the tradition 😄 For this one, I hadn't picked the books just yet because I'll see what letters I can "solve" just by reading for other challenges.
2. Key Word Reading Challenge
Again, this is a challenge I've done before so I'm picking it up next year too! I've already picked the books and we'll see how it goes.
3. Motif Reading Challenge
This one is new to me and it's made by the same wonderful people who created the Key Word challenge over at Chapter Adventure. I absolutely love all the prompts and have chosen the books as well. I'll post my picks in a separate post so it's easier to track everything.
4. Color Coded Challenge
Read nine books in the following categories:
1. A book with "Blue" or any shade of Blue in the title/author name/on the cover.
2. A book with "Red" or any shade of Red in the title/author name/on the cover.
3. A book with "Yellow" or any shade of Yellow in the title/author name/on the cover.
4. A book with "Green" or any shade of Green in the title/author name/on the cover.
5. A book with "Brown" or any shade of Brown in the title/author name/on the cover.
6. A book with "Black" or any shade of Black in the title/author name/on the cover.
7. A book with "White" or any shade of White in the title/author name/on the cover.
8. A book with any other color in the title/author name/on the cover.title/on the cover (Purple, Orange, Silver, Pink, etc).
9. A book with a word/image that implies color in the title/author name/on the cover. (Rainbow, Polka-dot, Plaid, Shadow, Paint, Ink, etc).
I won't be picking books for this one either because obviously, it's not very hard to finish 😂 Since I read a lot of different genres, I'll probably go through most of the colors without thinking much about it.
You can find this challenge on the My Reader's Block blog!
5. Read with Allison
Now this is a tough one. It's got 52 prompts and I have no idea what I'll do for some of them 😂 I'll probably take some liberties but that's fine.
Annnd that's it. I think I'll definitely have an interesting year 😂😂 If I stumble upon more interesting challenges I'll add those as well.
Do you plan on participating in any challenges? Which ones did you pick? Do you find it hard to finish them by the end of the year?

Oooh fun! I love a reading challenge! I haven't started thinking about the ones I want to do yet 😅 I did take a peek at some that have been posted already, but that's about it. Lol. I don't tend to participate in challenges that have very specific prompts or where I might have to pick books ahead of time because I know myself and i know that I will not stick to them 😂 I wish I could though because these challenges you picked look like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteI know you do, you were part of the reason why I went crazy with picking challenges for next year 😂 ahh I feel you, being a moody reader kinda makes the "book picking" useless 😂 luckily there are so many challenges out there that don't need pre-picked books! But I do know you were pretty successful so far with the various challenges you participated in so I'm sure you'll do great next year too!
DeleteI love these types of posts and I WANT UPDATES!
ReplyDeleteI was considering joining the first 3 as well. I think the A to Z one is a given for me, since it is fun, but also achievable (just because I am not so strict) and I was looking for a color one.
For the last one, I found a lot of similar ones so I am not sure if that's one of those or not, but it seems fun! As you say, they sound tough, since there are so many prompts, but it isnice to plan.
How many books are you planning on reading in 2025?😂
hahahh you'll get'em! 😂❤️
DeleteA to Z is truly the easiest one, except maybe for the X,Y,Z section 😅 The satisfaction you feel at the end of the year makes it worth all the trouble of planning/picking books 😂
Honestly, I have no idea how many books I plan on reading. If I look at the challenges, I have to read like a million.😂 if I think realistically on it, considering I read 96 books so far I think I'll put 70 as my Goodreads goal just to not have too much pressure
