Pip is not a detective anymore.
With the help of Ravi Singh, she released a true-crime podcast about the murder case they solved together last year. The podcast has gone viral, yet Pip insists her investigating days are behind her.
But she will have to break that promise when someone she knows goes missing. Jamie Reynolds has disappeared, on the very same night the town hosted a memorial for the sixth-year anniversary of the deaths of Andie Bell and Sal Singh.
The police won't do anything about it. And if they won't look for Jamie then Pip will, uncovering more of her town's dark secrets along the way... and this time everyone is listening. But will she find him before it's too late?
Wow, okay so....another crazy reveal I never saw coming.
I don't know how Holly Jackson's mind works, but she created not one, but TWO (and probably 3, still haven't read the final book) crazy plot twist filled books that managed to surprise me with every page.
Honestly, I don't know what to tell you guys and not repeat myself. Everything I said for The Good Girl's Guide to Murder applies to this book as well. Pippa once again delivers as one of the best MC's I've ever read about - she's stubborn, decisive, knows how to get what she wants, doesn't take the easy way out....she's just amazing.
Even though we get less Ravi content, he still shines in every scene he's in. He's just so adorable, understanding and supportive of his crazy detective gf
Besides solving the main mystery surrounding Jamie's disappearance, we also get to see the aftermath of the last case - mainly Max's trial and the way certain people cope with everything that happened. I enjoyed both "plot lines" and I really appreciate how the author didn't just "move on" to other stories, but instead, gave us an insight into how Cara and Naomi coped with their dad being incarcerated, what Nat feels, how the trial is going etc. Because, realistically, the story doesn't end when the killer is caught. There are trials, there are interviews, there are victims and their families, there's lots of emotion that doesn't simply go away. I think Holly showed us exactly that and more.
That ending thoughhh
I NEED TO READ THE FINAL BOOK ASAP
