☕📚 A weekend full of reading 💐✨
It's been far too long since I've done one of these so when I realized I've got this Friday off, I immediately jumped at the chance to have another readathon! Like last time, I'll be doing my favorite low-key readathon created by Reading Nymph and you can see what it's all about below:
She does this readathon very often and has multiple videos on the topic, but I chose her very first one, where she goes into detail about how the readathon works and what all the prompts on the board game mean. You can see the board below:
As she says in the video, you can start wherever you want and move in whichever direction you feel like. I decided to start at the Reading goal next to the cupcake because I want to check off some of my reading challenge prompts this weekend. These are the books I'll be working with:
As you can tell, most of them are from my Flower Market challenge list 😂 My goal is to finish 2 books by Sunday, which I think is achievable. To kind of set a plan, I rolled a couple of times to see what I need to work on. Here are my first 4 rolls:
Starting point - Reading goal
🎲 1 - Pretty cover
🎲 3 - Free space
🎲 1 - Have a sweet treat
🎲 6 - Enjoy a cozy hobby
It's currently 11:29am here, so I have a bit of time before lunch and that's why for the first two prompts I'm gonna pick Twelfth Knight (the cover is gorgeous) and read a few chapters (reading is kind of the main activity here, so I'm gonna do it for the "free space" lol). See you guys in a couple of hours with an update!
✨ Friday 16:20 ✨
Okay so, when it comes to reading, I did okay - read for about an hour and I'm currently at 23% of Twelfth Knight. Might seem like a slow start, but that's what I was going for. I really wanted this weekend to be filled with as many hobbies as possible 😂
After that, my sister made me this amazing strawberry banana smoothie (sweet treat), and it was DELICIOUS 😍 I haven't been a fan of smoothies before, but this year something changed - either my tastes, or we started making better smoothies 😂
For the "cosy hobby" part, I picked coloring because coincidentally, just yesterday, my Temu coloring book arrived 😂 I've been dying to have one of these simplistic, cutesy, girly coloring books because they're so low-stress and the pictures are always something Pinterest coded 😊 I got adult coloring books as gifts before, but those are so boring. Usually, they only have some patterns or random images that don't go together at all. Plus, they're bigger, take forever to color, and don't look fun at all. That's why I just had to get one of these 😂
First 4 prompts done, let's roll some more dice!
🎲 4 - Free Space
🎲 6 - Favorite beverage
🎲 1 - Move 2 spaces -> Reading goal
🎲 6 - Enjoy nature
I'm gonna use the free space to draft a couple of blog posts, and then I'll probably skip immediately to "reading goal" and read some more because I plan on drinking my "favorite beverage" after returning from my walk 😄 It may be cheating a bit but that's all fine lol
✨ Friday 21:20 ✨
It's been a productive evening, and I managed to write 2 new blog posts for the "free space" prompt. I went on a walk with my dog, had a drink and went back to reading! After reading about half an hour, I decided to roll again and here's the results:
🎲 1 - Short book
🎲 6 - Comfort genre
🎲 6 - Free space
I feel extremely lucky for these numbers because I merged the first two prompts and just continued reading Twelfth Knight. Not only is this a) a short book with only 304 pages, but it's also b) a rom-com with good banter, which I definitely consider one of my comfort genres 😂 So, I read for another hour and half which brings me to almost three hours.

I'm currently at 82% of the book. I think I might even finish it tonight! For the "free space," I'm probably going to go play this super cute cooking game I've been obsessed with for the past week. I was actually planning on posting my "Spring Games" recommendation post this week, but I haven't finished it yet. The game I'm playing is called KuloNiku: Bowl Up! and it's so addictive. You make all these delicious dishes while also befriending the locals and competing with other chefs in tournaments 😄

How cosy! I love readathon posts and this one looks so fun. I enjoy that it combines different activities apart from reading, and you seem to have had a great start of the readathon!
ReplyDeleteI agree with your take on adult coloring books, so maybe I should also get one of those ones you mentioned.
All of these books are in my TBR so I'm curious about your thoughts!
