As I promised, here are some books that I think would be amazing to read during spring - either because of their theme, time they're set in or just vibes ✨
Edenbrooke 🌿
by Julianne Donaldson
"Marianne Daventry will do anything to escape the boredom of Bath and the amorous attentions of an unwanted suitor. So when an invitation arrives from her twin sister, Cecily, to join her at a sprawling country estate, she jumps at the chance. Thinking she'll be able to relax and enjoy her beloved English countryside while her sister snags the handsome heir of Edenbrooke, Marianne finds that even the best laid plans can go awry. From a terrifying run-in with a highwayman to a seemingly harmless flirtation, Marianne finds herself embroiled in an unexpected adventure filled with enough romance and intrigue to keep her mind racing. Will Marianne be able to rein in her traitorous heart, or will a mysterious stranger sweep her off her feet? Fate had something other than a relaxing summer in mind when it sent Marianne to Edenbrooke."
🌿 My Notes: 🌿
This is the Pride and Prejudice kinda vibe I was looking for FOR YEARS. It's got the hate-to-love story, the idyllic setting, the gardens, the messy sister relationships, the balls, THE DRAMA ♥

Anne of Green Gables 🌱
by L.M. Montgomery
As soon as Anne Shirley arrives at the snug white farmhouse called Green Gables, she is sure she wants to stay forever . . . but will the Cuthberts send her back to the orphanage? Anne knows she's not what they expected—a skinny girl with fiery red hair and a temper to match. If only she can convince them to let her stay, she'll try very hard not to keep rushing headlong into scrapes and blurting out the first thing that comes to her mind. Anne is not like anyone else, the Cuthberts agree; she is special—a girl with an enormous imagination. This orphan girl dreams of the day when she can call herself Anne of Green Gables.
🌱 My Notes: 🌱
One of the most heartwarming stories about being accepted, finding new family and friends and generally just enjoying the little things in life. The scenery is also beautiful, making you wish you were there in the gables.

Eliza, from Scratch 🍃
by Sophia Lee
Eliza Park’s senior year will be perfect: She’s going to be salutatorian, give a tear-jerking graduation speech in front of her parents, and enjoy her last year with her equally ambitious best friends. But when a scheduling mishap enrolls her in Culinary Arts, Eliza is suddenly the most clueless person in the class. Her typical title of star student belongs to the aggravatingly arrogant Wesley Ruengsomboon, a charming Thai American boy whose talent in the kitchen leaves Eliza both awed and annoyed.
With her rank on the line, Eliza’s only hope is to snatch the midterm cooking contest win from Wesley, however improbable that may be. Add in the flavor of her grandmother’s Korean recipes, the heat of being class partners with Wesley, and the sweetness of unexpected feelings—and Eliza must now rebuild everything she knew about success, love, and what it means to be herself, from scratch.
🍃 My Notes: 🍃
This book has it all: a believable, complex mother-daughter relationship, beautiful supporting female friendships and a slow burn cutesy relationship between two rivals (that started during cooking lessons).

Maybe This Time 💐
by Kasie West
One year. Nine events. Nine chances to . . . fall in love?
Weddings. Funerals. Barbecues. New Year's Eve parties. Name the occasion, and Sophie Evans will be there. Well, she has to be there. Sophie works for the local florist, so she can be found at every big event in her small hometown, arranging bouquets and managing family dramas.
Enter Andrew Hart. The son of the fancy new chef in town, Andrew is suddenly required to attend all the same events as Sophie. Entitled, arrogant, preppy Andrew. Sophie just wants to get her job done and finish up her sketches so she can apply to design school. But every time she turns around, there is Andrew, getting in her way and making her life more complicated. Until one day she wonders if maybe complicated isn't so bad after all . . .
💐 My Notes: 💐
A Kasie West novel where a florist falls in love with a chef. Can it get cuter?? Also, I really enjoyed the different formatting - we follow the main characters during the whole year but only during the events they are working at, so that's a fun twist!

Pride and Premeditation 🌺
by Tirzah Price
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a young woman who desires a law career must be in want of a case. So when sixteen year old Lizzie Bennet hears about a scandalous society murder, she sees an opportunity to prove herself as a solicitor by solving the case and ensuring justice is served.
Except the man accused of the crime already has a lawyer on his side: Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy, the stern young heir to the prestigious Pemberley Associates law firm. Lizzie is determined to solve the murder before Darcy can so that she can show the world that a woman can be just as good as a man. (The fact that Darcy is an infuriating snob doesn’t help.) But there’s still a killer on the loose, and as the case gets more complicated, Lizzie and Darcy may have to start working together to avoid becoming the next victims themselves.
🌺 My Notes: 🌺
For my girlies who are looking for a light, humorous spring novel that also has a bit of murder in it, look no further! The romance is definitely a sub-plot while the mystery is front and center. It's also got a strong protagnist and lots of funny banter while investigating the case!

Yours from the Tower 🥀
by Sally Nicholls
This epistolary confection—told in letters among three school friends—is perfect for devotees of gossipy costume drama.
Tirzah, Sophia, and Polly are best friends who’ve left boarding school and gone back to very different lives. The year is 1896, and Polly is teaching in an orphanage, Sophia is scouting for a rich husband at the London Season, and Tirzah is stuck acting as an unpaid companion to her grandmother.
In a series of letters buzzing with atmosphere and drama, the friends air their dreams, hopes, frustrations, and romances. Can this trio of very different young women—one industrious, one artful, and one in exile—find happiness and love near the dawn of the Edwardian era?
🥀 My Notes: 🥀
A delightful novel about 3 girls with different backgrounds dealing with their own issues while supporting each other wholeheartedly. ♥ While being mostly light-hearted, this book also offered a realistic take on problems young women of that time faced and how few options they had.

But He's My Grumpy Neighbor🌸
by Annah Conwell
It’s not stalking if he’s your hot neighbor, right? At least, that’s what I tell myself when Adrian Carter moves in next door.
His scowl should make me want to run in the other direction, but when I catch him smothering a smile around me, it makes me want to get to know him more. And when Adrian starts to open up, I find myself falling in love with the cinnamon roll center hidden beneath his gruff exterior.
But between my emotional baggage and his aversion to relationships, it’s looking like we’ll never be more than neighborly.
🌸 My Notes: 🌸
A super sweet, small-town romance that's actually more about starting over again and finding yourself while connecting with others. The support Juliette got after moving to the town was so lovely to read about and how she finally felt safe and at home.

Little White Lies 🌷
by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Eighteen-year-old auto mechanic Sawyer Taft did not expect her estranged grandmother to show up at her apartment door and offer her a six-figure contract to participate in debutante season. And she definitely never imagined she would accept. But when she realizes that immersing herself in her grandmother's "society" might mean discovering the answer to the biggest mystery of her life-her father's identity-she signs on the dotted line and braces herself for a year of makeovers, big dresses, bigger egos, and a whole lot of bless your heart. The one thing she doesn't expect to find is friendship, but as she's drawn into a group of debutantes with scandalous, dangerous secrets of their own, Sawyer quickly discovers that her family isn't the only mainstay of high society with skeletons in their closet. There are people in her grandmother's glittering world who are not what they appear, and no one wants Sawyer poking her nose into the past. As she navigates the twisted relationships between her new friends and their powerful parents, Sawyer's search for the truth about her own origins is just the beginning.
🌷 My Notes: 🌷
Set in the world of debutante balls, grand estates and rolling green hills, this is definitely a unique novel that combines mystery, intrigue and gorgeous friendships! Also, we all know this author doesn't miss when it comes to plot twists.

Hope you guys find new books you're gonna love!
