New week means new Monday bookish meme hosted by  The Book Date.

I can't believe I read 4 books last week 😂 Although, the last one is only 120 pages long, so there's that. After finishing The Earth Concurrence, I was mildly disappointed. Serenity kept going against every order she was given and just did whatever she wanted to do, but she did get better toward the end. The plot didn't really pull me in and I didn't feel excited at any point so yeah...I don't think I'll be continuing with this series but luckily for me, Julia Huni has a bunch of other ones to try 😂

System Collapse was amazing of course. I will admit it took me some time to get into it because I didn't realize it was a direct sequel to Network Effect (which I read 5 YEARS AGO) and had no recollection of what it's about 😂 In any case, Murderbot once again has some interesting character development and I can't wait to see how it all plays out.

I couldn't take any more sci-fi so I quickly switched to something I knew would be the perfect transition to spring romance novels - a Cinderella retelling, with pirates! This book also fits the 4.50 or higher prompt I have for the Flower Market challenge so yay! Please ignore this hideous cover, the book was actually amazing with two very green flags as protagonists and an interesting plot.

Then I read this super short book called Beauty and the Baron, which is a Regency "retelling" of Beauty and the Beast. Found it to be quite...cliche and sometimes even cringe, plus I can't even call this a retelling because almost nothing from the OG was present here (except that Rose likes books) 😅 I did have fun though!

Another book I picked on a whim because it's short, has romance and could pass for the "unassuming cover" prompt, but I'm still thinking if I should use it or not. Maybe there are even better...more unassuming covers than this one on my immediate TBR 😂 I'm only saying this because the plot so far has been a huge cringe fest and ughh we'll see...

Another retelling of Beauty and the Beast could be exactly what I need now because Beauty and the Baron was most decidedly NOT in the same category. It was okay for a regency romance novel, but it didn't have the right vibes for a retelling. Also, look at this super pretty cover!! 😍
