There's only half a month left of 2025 and that means it's time to plan for next year's reading challenges! This post is just gonna be a general overview of all the challenges I'll be participating in, but in the upcoming days, I'll also be posting my TBR for each one separately (along with some recs!).
1. A to Z
This is a challenge that's been a part of my reading journey for many years and I don't plan on stopping 😂 The only obstacle is the fact that I'm running out of X, Y, and Z books, but I plan on cheating a lil bit by picking books with author names starting with those letters so it's fine 😂 Or, what I did this year, picked a title that has multiple repetitions of that letter but in all the wrong places lol

2. Key Word Reading Challenge
Again, this is a challenge I've done before so I'm picking it up next year too! I love how it seems simple because you get multiple options for each month BUT the words are extra specific sometimes so it gets chaotic real fast 😂
3. Motif Reading Challenge
This one is also made by the same wonderful people who created the Key Word challenge over at Chapter Adventure. This year was my first time participating (and I did really good so it boosted my confidence 😂) but I plan on making it part of my "usual" challenges, like the Key Word one.
4. Color Coded Challenge
There are lots of versions on this topic and most of them use the colors I plan on using, which are:
red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown, black and white
It's one of my fave challenges because I love cover-focused ones and I love pretty colors 😂
5. and 6. Buzzword Challenges
She actually has two reading challenges - one connected to book titles and one completely focused on covers. This year, I've only participated in the cover one, but I think I'll be doing both next year.
7. Romanceopoly University Challenge
Guys, if this isn't the most elaborate and beautiful challenge I have ever seen...Just look at this gorgeous map!
The challenge is so complex that I will literally need to download the PDF guide they have on their website.

Long story short, this is a romance focused challenge designed like a collage campus where you can pick your "mayor" and your "minor." For example, I'll pick Fantasy Theory and Romantic Arts because I mostly read romantasy and contemporaries. Then there are additional electives and clubs if you want even more prompts. There are some requirements if you want to graduate and everything. 😂😂
I don't even know how to explain the whole challenge so I linked the image to their website and there's also a YouTube video where you can get even more info!
Aaandd that's it! I think this is a fairly normal amount of challenges and it should be achieveable, especially because I definitely plan on using some books for multiple prompts - who's gonna stop me?? 😂

Do you plan on participating in any challenges? Which ones did you pick? Do you find it hard to finish them by the end of the year?

I did terrible this year, and yet whenever I think of 2026 and see these posts, I GET SO EXCITED!
ReplyDeleteI like all the challenges you mentioned. I should be picky this year, but I find myself planning already.
I discovered the Motif one thanks to you. I saw the new prompts and I thought of the books from my 2026 TBR that would go in there; I could think of options for all the months, but not books I wanted to read in 2026, so I might skip it.
Romanceopoly looks incredible though, so I am going to check it out right now!
I cannot wait to see all your TBRs, best of luck!
