Reading Challenge Updates - Q1 2025

One fourth of the year is already behind us, so I decided to take a look at my challenge progress 😄

First up, we have the A to Z challenge, which I decided to just wing this year. It's been going great so far, and I'll stick to this method for now 😂

Stats: 10 out of 26 (38%)

Next up is the Key Word challenge, which I'm currently just on track. Also, I have to mention I never do these monthly challenges in order 😂 I pick the books at the beginning of the year and I can't predict what mood I'll be in, so I just read books in whichever order I want to.

Stats: 3 out of 12 (25%)

Moving on with a challenge from the same authors, and that's the Motif challenge. I'm doing slightly better in this one.

Stats: 5 out of 12 (41%)

Rainbow Challenge is one of my faves and it's fairly simple to do, so I'm doing just fine 😄

Stats: 3 out of 10 (30%)

The hardest challenge I'm doing this year is the Read With Allison one, and I took a few liberties 😂😂 A big majority of the prompts are either easy to do or pretty straightforward, but some of them require things I refuse to do just for the sake of a challenge.

First of all, there's a prompt to read a book from a subscription box which I never had and never will (there aren't any in my country that I'd be interested in and the one or two we have are pretty expensive, so I'll rather just buy a book I like) so instead, I picked a book from an author I'm "subscribed to." Basically, an author I'll automatically read anything from (e.g.Kasie West, Suzanne Collins, Lynette Noni).

One more prompt I disliked was "listen to an audiobook." Look, I have nothing against those but for the life of me, I can't do it 😂 If I'm not reading it with my two eyes, I can't keep track of the story. I never liked other people reading to me which is a weird thing but that's how it is. Therefore, I did a twist on the prompt and looked for books that are about music, which one might call "audio books" 😂

Stats: 24 out of 52 (46%)

My most recent addition is the Buzzwordathon Cover Challenge. I think this is the one I'm doing worst in, but it's not a big deal because I have some amazing choices on my TBR which I'll most likely read by the end of the year.

Stats: 2 out of 12 (16%)

Last but not least is the 25 Books In 2025. It's one I did last year and had lots of fun with.

Stats: 8 out of 25 (32%)

Overall, I think I'm doing really good but we'll see later on in the year when I get to all the "weird" prompts or annoying letters like X and Z 😂😂

How are you guys doing in your challenges?

  1. You're doing so well and you're so organized! I think the hardest part might be keeping track of everything, and you seem to be doing amazing at that. Is it difficult? Do you have any strategies moving forward?

You've read a lot of books I am interested in! I wonder which books you'll pick next.

I liked seeing your progress, hope you continue going like this.

    1. Thank you so much! 😄 It can get difficult keeping track of everything if you don't have a good system (I didn't have one last year).

I printed out all of my reading challenge prompts and I wrote 2-3 book options for each. Every time I finish a book, I go look if it fits somewhere. Although, now that I'm 4 months in, I realized it would've been easier if I made the list in Word or any other writing program so I could just "ctrl+F" and find it, but having real paper makes it a tad bit exciting 😂 It's like I'm investigating a case, I put a million papers in front of me and my reading journal and just go crazy 😂 There's also this feeling of satisfaction when I can write a little check mark, or cross over a title, and glue on these lil covers I printed out...basically scrapbooking is my passion 😂

  2. You're doing really good on all your challenges! Nice job! I'm honestly afraid to go look at mine... I don't think it's going great 😅😂 In regards to audiobooks, I am the same as you! I've always been jealous of people who can just listen to audiobooks. My mind will wander and I will absolutely miss something vital in the story 😂 The only way I can do an audiobook is if I am reading the book with my eyeballs at the same time. Lol.
